FREE CAMPGROUNDS IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

"Howell's"

Forget the TV commercials, forget the Yellow Pages, when I need
some dependable information I go to my fellow boondockers and
ask where they have their work done. So when my refrigerator was
giving me problems I went to see Lou, a long time resident at the
Slabs. "Only one place," he said, "Howell's RV Appliance Repair."
Even if it is 120 miles away from Slab City; Lou told me that it
was worth the long drive out there. As always, Lou was right.

Located in an industrial center just outside San Diego, So.Calif.
Mr. Leonard Howell's shop is freeway-close and easy to get to.
When I asked him how long he has been in business, he proudly told
me: "Thirty years!" His daughter who answers the phone and runs
the office has worked for him for half of those years.
What more can I tell you? Mr. Howell not only fixed my refrigerator
but also and I quote: "Since you're here, I might as well clean and
check the rest of your appliances."
It was during this check-up that he discovered a potentially very
dangerous situation. The shut off valves on my stove top were worn
out to point that they could leak. That would have spelled disaster!
In this day and age when everybody is so much in a hurry, I find it
refreshing to meet someone who takes the time to do a good job.

And oh, by the way, for a long time now, I've been trying to locate
a replacement for the broken tray on the door of my fridge.
I searched everywhere, junk-yards, parts places, even on the Net
without results. Lo and behold, wouldn't you know, here I found one
at his used spare parts department. Must have been my lucky day.

THANK YOU MR. HOWELL AND STAFF, I'LL RECOMMEND YOU TO ANYBODY!
